LTTE's elite Charles Anthony brigade suffered one of their worst setbacks in the 4th Eelam war at the hand of army's 57 division yesterday (26) and today (27). Heavy fighting raged in Chiraddikulama, North of Vavuniya, when SLA mounted an offensive to capture LTTE's 54 base yesterday evening. Fighting continued till today (27) till the base finally fell to the army. Serach and clearing operations are still continuing in the area to defuse the booby traps and to hunt and kill any surviving LTTE elements.
A large number of LTTE fighters have been killed in this battle (exact number unknown as of yet) and 25 of the bodies have been recovered by the army. Majority of the casualties are from LTTE's elite Charles Anthony brigade. The army has also captured an arsenal of weapons including a 12.7mm AA gun.
Intercepted radio transmissions monitored LTTE elements in the region repeatedly requesting permission for withdrawal even during initial stages of fighting. LTTE command in Wanni apparently turned down all the requests. The LTTE cadre in the area however resisted the army advance fiercely for many hours until they were finally overwhelmed.
MI believes that a senior LTTE leader has been seriously injured. However nothing is confirmed yet.

ReplyDeletethank you for the update
Army is going full speed
This is great! The closer we get to defeating one type of extremists militarily, we shouldn't forget those other extremists closer to us who can turn any victory into a tragedy and leave us once again where we started from. I'm of course talking about the JVP/JHU and Sinhalese nationalists.
ReplyDeleteWe have to work together with the minorities, no one and I mean no one should be allowed to gain any political advantage by splitting Sri Lankans in two again!
What can we do to make the different ethnic groups feel more at home and more Sri Lankan? Sports is a good thing. Mixed race schools is another good thing. People who take part in hate crimes should be severely punished and made an example out of.
Another independence day is another good idea, with events that make a cultural fusion and a sort of new Sri Lankan culture.
Future can be bright, we're not out of the storm yet.
Banu is killed ?
ReplyDeleteOooooooooopppps I thought cadres from Charles Anthony brigade can not be killed …..
ReplyDeletewell one SLA brilliant job we need more…
Triple gem bless you all
None of these photographs are close-ups. The ones that are lying closer to the camera are turning their heads the other way.

cleverly done. But shouldn't fool any person with an iota of brain.
Of course, the wishful thinking, GOSL supporting blogger brethren will go berserk with delight and offer bouquets. (Qrious the bouquet bit was added to bolster the line that was nearly filled with B-words :-) Not an attempt to attack you )

B#1,
ReplyDeleteYour comment from the previous post:
"But we should consider that most of those belonged to the Charles Anthony Brigade. Part of their training is recovery the bodies since leave behind them is biggest victory to the enemy and no propaganda can make against the enemy's victory."
Well then one can say they are also shock troops trained to launch surprise attacks on enemy bases, defend enemy bases, recover lost territory etc. Are they doing any of this? The only thing they are capable of at the moment is turning around and running for their lives.
Defencenet says:
"Intercepted radio transmissions monitored LTTE elements in the region repeatedly requesting permission for withdrawal even during initial stages of fighting."
Will anybody with such a low moral dare to risk his life to recover a dead body? Remember that even though they are called 'elite', it is by LTTE standards. They are not in the same level(nowhere near in fact) as our commandos or SF, nor do they have any special training of the kind that special operations forces receive.
"But shouldn't fool any person with an iota of brain."
ReplyDeleteThe same can be said about all the news that comes from the LTTE and pro-ltte media. Believe what you want to believe, but don't think you're any smarter.
Denial is usually the first symptom of defeat, specially idealogical defeats.
peccko,

ReplyDeleteUndestand this.. do you think those soilders standing next to the dead ltte carders will let any of thier sla comrads lie in that line while they fought next to each other. They would not because we are not in-humane like ruthless LTTE.
Your leaders sacrificed those soilders for nothing even when they asked to fight another day they denied. This is the fate of LTTE.
DEAD BY THE DOZENS...
"Your leaders sacrificed those soilders for nothing even when they asked to fight another day they denied."
ReplyDeleteThis is true. I don't understand what the hell the big bosses in Wanni were thinking when they didn't allow their people to withdraw. They know they were going to lose big and they couldn't do anything about it even if they held on. It was obviously only a matter of time.... maybe they were thinking of inflicting heavy casualties on SLA (big mistake, really BIG) and it would be useful if they had their best men left alive for later at least.
DefenceNet,
ReplyDelete"MI believes that a senior LTTE leader has been seriously injured. However nothing is confirmed yet."

Defencenet,
ReplyDeleteIf i'm not mistaken LTTE's Mannar operations are lead by Lakshman and Banu. It is quite possible that that the serious injured is one of them.
Looks like the damage is done by 57 regular infantry troops and special op troops.
However, it is quite sad to see selfish LTTE high command denying the LTTE cadres to withdraw.

[TamilNet, Friday, 27 June 2008, 15:55 GMT]
Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in Vavuniyaa handed over 25 dead bodies of Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE) fighters, who were killed in action at Chriraddikku'lam, which is a GS area in Maanthai East division of Mullaiththeevu district. Meanwhile, Murungkan police handed over a dead body of a combatant to Mannaar hospital Friday evening.
Arrangements to transfer the dead bodies would be undertaken after Vavuniyaa magistrate inspects the bodies, medical sources in Vavuniyaa said.
The SLA said the Tiger fighters were killed in the fighting on Thursday.
The LTTE is yet to release details of the battle.
Chiraddikku'lam is located 22 km east of Vidaththaltheevu and 12.3 km northwest of Moon'ru Mu'rippu, which is situated along the border of three districts, Mannaar, Mullaiththeevu and Vavuniyaa.

Something for us to learn!!! Or something we will never learn.
ReplyDeleteThe tamilnet.com has published photos of dead LTTE cadres published by the SLDF. Since it was inevitable that thse pictures would have been seen by the LTTE supporting Tamil diaspora, Tamilnet made a strategic decision to publish them themselves. Through this they have projected an aura of credibility by stealing the fire from pro-peace and pro-government media. Very clever!!!
This news is no where in BBC.. but when the SLN small camp was attacked it was big thing in BBC..
ReplyDeleteMan how bias is BBC.. Tamilnut is even better...
Big sacrifices, being made by all Sri Lankans on the economic front, enabled the defence folks to embark on this victory.
ReplyDeleteThe bitter fact is that we all have to keep paying a price for the past CARDINAL mistake of BELEIVING THAT LTTE TERRORISTS WERE SERIOUS ON A CFA and negotiated solution.
How hard for us now to grimly realize that they used the CFA to the fullest....re-arm, re-group and KILL US???? Unbearable!
Soon it's very likely that the LTTE itself will propose another CFA.
On that... I hope our president will be steadfast... and insist that the LTTE must lay down arms.... no matter who supports the new CFA.
[Man how bias is BBC.. Tamilnut is even better...]

pecko, u son of a whore, this shows that we don't hide our casualties and do admit defeats when it happens, this is inevitable in a war, you lose some battles but what matters is who wins the war. ReplyDeleteAs I said earlier, once in a while you show signs of intelligence.
Your last post was one such sign.
Having said that, I must also add that, it's easy to find fault of someone when he's failing.
Real intelligence is to find a fault independent of circumstances.
Hope you'll get there someday.
Btw, watch your back.
Tissa hami,
ReplyDeleteYour appachchi's advise is quite racist and you would do well to get that mindset out of your system. That type of mindset from both sides of the ethnic devide has brought us to this situation. Continue with that and we will not see an end to this problem.
We are not fighting our Tamil brothers, we are fighting the LTTE (who happen to be mostly Tamils). All Srilankans must make that distinction amply clear.
So please think before you speak/write. But most importantly think before you think!. Thinking before you think about what you are about to think is the best way to change a mindset.
Just an observation and a humble correction as a fellow Srilankan who wants as much as any other patriot in this blog, to see terrorism wiped out of our pukka land.
PS. Good to know someone else who calls their father "appachchi"; I do too.

DefNet,
ReplyDeleteAre you certain these are elite Charles Anthony brigade?
News from the 'other' side is that the SLA killed 25 grandmothers on a pilgrimage and stole their knitting needles...
Trained for guerilla war and compelled to fight a conventional war against an army that fights both ways at the drop of a hat, life must be a bitch for the gooks.
ReplyDeleteWatch the East and be prepared for an attack designed to change the status-quo in that theatre. The greatest likelihood is of a sea-tiger swarm attack on naval vessels, facilitated by the Jeyanthan guys providing the rear guard.
Intensified combat in Mannar can lead the Army to concentrate its forces in the western arena, opening itself to a sneak attack on the Eastern front.
A clear access to the seas will also facilitate Tiger leadership's plans for an escape route, far from the watching Indian Navy.
Malin,

Perein asked,
ReplyDeleteQrious-
Where did you get that info mate?
I am sure LKDOOD was referring to a guy in a certain Tamil website and he is Bhanu.
I have no idea, beyond that, mate.
June 27, 2008: While violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan get lots of attention, as do terrorist attacks in India, most of the action in the region is taking place far to the south, in Sri Lanka. There, a civil war between ethnic Tamil separatists and the government, continues to account for over half the combat and terrorist deaths in the region (Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh) this year.
ReplyDeleteIt's true that Pakistan and Afghanistan account for most of the remainder, and largely because international terrorist organizations like al Qaeda have set up their bases along the Pakistani-Afghan border. But most of the fighting is now going on far to the south, where the 25 year old civil war is grinding to a conclusion (with the rebels losing.)
For the last few months, combat deaths in Sri Lanka have averaged over a hundred a week. Only occasionally has the violence in Afghanistan gotten that bad, and Pakistan, despite all the noise about the Taliban and al Qaeda, has far fewer deaths than Sri Lanka. Why does the world ignore the slaughter in Sri Lanka? Largely because the battle there has few international implications. Although the Tamil rebels raise money all over the world, they have confined their international terrorism to fellow Tamils (most of whom live in southern India.) The principal Tamil rebel group, the LTTE, are quite capable terrorists, and basically wrote the book on suicide bombing. But, unlike the Islamic terrorists, the LTTE is not out to conquer the world, only there little piece of the island nation Sri Lanka. So if you don't go looking diligently for Sri Lanka news, you won't get it.

Tropicalstorm,
ReplyDeleteWell said mate..
An attack on SLN bases in Trinco is imminent..It is likely LTTE will try to advance on the Welioya front to regain control over the eastern province.
A Conspiracy Theory
ReplyDeleteTamilnet released the pictures and casualties very quickly. They have removed the news that said 18 SLA killed. Tamilnet announced the death of Thamil Chelvam in a matter of hours after his demise.
These are not coincidental. I see the hand of Pottu Amman behind this chain of events.
Either he is frustrated with Prabha for the way handles the war or it is a sign of hiding even a bigger loss from us - a sort of red herring.
Something is certainly up.
Prabha can't hold this unholy alliance of seniors with an iron grip for very long.
Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy, flew himself to Scotland in Britain risking the life from anti-aircraft fire, when he knew it was all over, during the last phase of the second world war.
On hearing the news, Hitler simply said Hess had gone mad.
Hess had a British contact in Scotland - an influencial aristrocrat. He went in the hope that his good friend would find him a refuge. It was a disappointment. He was imprisoned, brought to Nuremberg trial for war crimes and sent to prison to serve a life sentence. It was a miscalculation on Hess's part; but he escaped the gallows.
Pottu Amman is not known to have skills to fly an aeroplane - not even a model one, because he is so illusive. He can't go very far even if he can, because he is in the interpol's most wanted list.
So, folks if you spot a strange bird in the sky over where you live, it could be him fitting some wings on him, looking for a tree for roosting.
Don't shoot him; jsut scare him with a catapalt.
Stf,
ReplyDeleteWell said.

I believe your version..yes the 25 bodies are of senior tamil citizens whose knitting needles we have stolen.Cant be charles anthony..
i suspect that the army will face the might of the LTTE's over 80's crack commando division soon..God help our forces.
some pro-LTTE elements still say that india was trying to stop military operations!!
ReplyDeletethey should take a good look at these pictures.
now we more and more engaging the elites. beyond the brutality of war, it is like a chess game. but LTTE still has alot of pawns. kill them and also plan to kill the elites.
these LTTE fighters don't look that "bloody". may be the result of close quarter combat.
"STF said...
ReplyDeleteDo NOT FEEL SORRY FOR dead LTTE cadres..."
I would differ with you. You should feel sorry for the ordinary soldier who has been put into harms way by the ltte leadership. It is those leaders which deserves your scorn. They rarely participate in battle but are the primary cause of so many Tamil deaths. I feel sorry for the common cadre, and their family, who has no choice but to fight and die.
Well said Machang...
ReplyDeleteKeep them coming..
Qrious,
ReplyDeleteThat was funny man..Keep them coming..
ReplyDeleteBEWARE,
LTTE will counter the SLA's recent gains and propaganda with a massive attack somewhere else...
Brace for another AAB style attack..
I would guess, they will use their sea tigers for the next massive attack...
There is a 80% chance of this happening..
Attack on Trinco is very real..
I would say, SLA needs to be 200% vigilent to avoid a dibacle.
outsider,
ReplyDeletenot only VP, but also diaspora tamils are also behind this. they are the ones who bet with millions of dollars on a war they don't feel. also MOST tamils in SL support the LTTE, still, unfortunately.
they demand more "excitement" and for that their own kind has to die!!! they must accept that tamil elam is a non-starter.
however, these LTTE cadres seems grown up men rather than children. they are capable of knowing what is right and what is wrong. why can't they do a karuna turn? or a pulithevan turn?
this war will not end until racist-separatism dies. i can't see that happening in the near future. fedaralism (as demanded in SL) will only make this permanant. so even if we give an "acceptable" political solution to moderates (they are also separatists, unfortunately!!!), violence is going to continue in a worse manner (people to people clashes instead of SLDF verses LTTE).
SL war has been one of the longest, yet a VERY LOW INTENSITY affair compared to other wars. this favours the LTTE which has fewer fighters but is capable of guerilla warfare. this is what we should break to beat them.
the numbers game in democracy (where tamil racist politicians couldn't beat the sinhalese politicians) has turned violent in the battlefield. again it is a numbers game. so it is partly true that war is an extention of politics given the supportbases for each camp. actually war has achieved more unity than politics can achieve among the two support groups.
LTTE is slowly reaching that stage where it cannot afford to make "strategic or tactical withdrawels". its the time for SLDFs to lay nets for a bumper harvest.
Run your car on water
ReplyDeleteI am guessing, how about running our SLA vehicles with this technology?
Will save billions for the economy for sure?
Running all rusty heavy vehicles with water would be advantageous....
ReplyDeleteThose guys were definitely defending a fixed position since the .50 cal anti air craft gun is quite heavy and is not portable or necessary for a attack type operation.
ReplyDeleteAlso the amount of mines packed in boxes show that they were for laying around a vital position
The pictures are definitely that of experienced cadres because some are wearing shoes and socks. The current conscripts only get the Rs. 110 rubber batas.
Well done to SLA for taking them out. Definitely a a big setback to ltte. Now I gues Vidathalthivu is almost taken.
I'm sure though that LTTE casualties are much higher than what tamilnet admits.
ReplyDeleteThe captured LTTE mines seems to be new.Their boxes are new..Looks like LTTE had fresh delivery of weapons under the nose of SLN..
SLA needs to investigate the source of the weapons...
Further they should take finger prints and DNA samples of dead LTTE cadres to identify the past LTTE attacks..I hope the SLA is doing this..
It is wise to think that a major operation by the LTTE against the SLA is around the corner.
No doubt LTTE received fresh stock of Weapons..
kaati,
ReplyDeletewell observed; yet again.
such a lot of mines and a 12.7mm gun!!
imagine the disaster that would have happened had the SLA got delayed by a few minutes!!
India, Sri Lanka set up a security group
ReplyDeleteLINK
What about the SLA casualties ..IS it Zero....
ReplyDeleteno use taking fingerprints of these guys. the ones behind attacks in GOSL held areas are intelligence cadres or people hired by them.
ReplyDeleteThe dead are just fighters who will stick out if they come out of Vanni.
these dead guys are some of the LTTE "ëlite" troops.
The 50 cal machine gun they had is to counter attack heli gunships and even on diving jets. Special training is given to the people who use it.
Also you can see that there are lot of 56-2 rifles collected. these are normally given with plastic bulgarian magazines to crack troops.
Also to kill 25 of them in one operation means that some large camp specially for CA special brigade has been taken.
SLA should watch out for the Radha teams as they are a new brigade under direct supervsion from thalaivar.
Just another insight from behind the cadjan curtain : )
DefenceNet,
ReplyDeleteI am sure that you noticed the Norinco HEIs in the captured weapons. Are these routed via Burma or North Korea
Moshe Dyan
ReplyDeleteI can appreciate your views that these were grown men and should know better, but consider the millions of men that served in the German army in WWII. They fought for a madman. What happens is that the common man gets caught up in a fervor be it nationalistic, religious, or whatever.
Man, when you put him in a group, acts like a herd animal. People tend to do what everyone else does. It is too easy to follow the crowd and blend in. Otherwise you stand out and most individuals do not wish to stand out in such situations.
One other point, many of the people who serve in the ltte ground forces have family and they may feel compelled to serve because of shame or to protect their family from being punished.
I do feel that there are many who serve because they enjoy the power they have in the ltte. These people rise to positions of authority because they keep the common cadre in line. They orchestrate the atrocities and suicide bombings. These are the one's who should be tried and hung for war crimes when this is all over.
[What about the SLA casualties ..IS it Zero....]
ReplyDeleteNo, It's 2500!
Mate, bottom line is real estate. Talk about that. You were told by the dog arse*ole you worship that the thirst of the tiger is the real estate called Eezahm. What's going on?
Can you shed some 'light' on the size of the real estate of that 'de facto' state?
By the way... very impressive action by the formidable Charles Anthony clan! I thought poor sinhala village boys would be fried alive by them!
Hooooo..... hooooooo...... hooooooo!

Pakka-Lanka,
Your reply for Tissa hami is an excellent mate. These stupids can't understand there are also some Tamils behind the Army's success.
outsider,
ReplyDeleteyes; i cannot apprehend how one mad man like AH could fool not only one nation, but people of many nations!!
but the LTTE's PRESENT predicament is different. i would accept that they couldn't afford to do so when the LTTE was strong. but things are different now. many of its leaders are either dead, defected or under house arrest. conditions are ripe for defection. unlike child soldeirs these men stand a better chance of defecting the LTTE. i'm sure they are like the nazi army towards the end ( a large number surrendered) as they know very well that they are fighting a losing battle.
they MUST use their concience and surrender, else, their death is inevitable and most welcomed. they cannot blame VP SOLELY for their death.
similarly SL tamills (and others, too) must understand that the tamil elam project is unattainable and should not become pawns of the tamill die-ass-pora. if they can't do so, they are also in for trouble.
B#1,
ReplyDelete"there are also some Tamils behind the Army's success"
there are MANY. they are model sri lankans.
tangara, thanks mate.

once my appachchi told me..,
wale inna demalai, pinthurei inna demalai witharaka wiswasa karapan puthei..
I am appalled, mate!!
You even made hard-hearted Qrious running for cover in shame.
It is not you in the wrong, but your appachchi. He can harbour these thoughts, if he wishes, but should not pass them on to his offspring.
I don't want you to rebel against your appachchi and risk being thrown out of the house. I can't offer you a refuge, because I am too far away.
I have this piece of advice for you, however, mate:
Hereafter, if your appachchi makes these remarks, just pretend that you listen to him; take what he says through the left ear and spit it out from the right or vice versa.
A pair of ears is given for a range of purposes: one of them is taking garbage in and then putting out without losing the balance of the finely-tuned system.
By saying that every Tamil is untrustworthy your appachchi implies that every Singhalese is fully trustworthy.
Just pull his leg by asking the need of a police station in your area as our tribe is so saintly. Any appacchi would love to have a bit of fun by their offspring - occassionally.
tissa-hamy, now take your bow and arrow, finish off a wild boar, get some honey and keep Qrious's share in the fridge.
You, take care mate.

ReplyDeleteAfter that , no news from that guy.
If you see same tchnology used in other countries, all were invented in very recent years.
Some talk about power cycle, but what I believe is, there can be different source of power, which can be harnessed with small trigering power.
It is like plastic explosive. If you burn, it will burn like rubber, but if you give a enough enegery through a detonator, power outcome is enormous.

I remember this story. Poor mechanic had no idea what hydrocarbon means, and all professors and educated people laughed at him and dismissed.
I also remember a story of a mechanic who built a helicopter using vehicle parts. He was threatened by OIC (?) of that area.
There was a person who made a miniature pistol. He was jailed I guess.
Instead of encouraging these brains we discourage them, humiliate them, and harass them.
qrious,
ReplyDeleteofcouse TAMILS are part of Sri Lanka and they have a right to live and work any where in Sri Lanka and i fully believe and respect that.
but believing them in personel level is some thing else. i do believe my appachchi has his own reasons.
This is not related to defense but worth reading for patriots.
ReplyDeleteTissa hami,
ReplyDeleteUmbata bageta pissu.
Umbe appachchita hondatama pissu.
Guys,
ReplyDeleteI hv no personal problems with that person who says he invented a water driven vehicle..
:)
What he is doing is using The Car battery to Electrolysis water in to H2 & O2. Then Store that in a tank in the back of the car. Drive the vehicle by that Gas.
Power loss is coz
1.The enery gained from the H2 taken by Hydrolysis is lower than the energy given to hydrolysis the water. (Simply Energy balance...)
2.The energy loss when charging battery & the Unit cost of Electricity...
The more CONVERSIONS of power involved the MORE the Losses...
It is Good to have H2 driven vehicles, But this is not the correct way...
Simply think if you hydrolysis water & collect the gas & burn...
Would you get the Same energy input as you hv done by burning that gas...
The Electrical car which is commercially available in SL which is built by Ray with collebaration of Ceylinco is a silent electrical car if anybody is thinking of electricity...
but I really do think if Media starts to boast without proper background analysis,When a Real invention comes...People would just not believe....
:(
just my thoughts....

Yes, mate your appachchi may have had some unpleasant experience with some Tamils. That is right.
But stereotyping the whole community for something committed by a few is another thing. That is wrong.
Three years ago, a bastard tried to pick-pocket me in Kandy. And he was Singhalese and I punched him in the face, in the middle of his operation, because I had this tingling sensation in my a*** region - a no-go-area for intruders. That was a very unplesant experience, in the middle of a crowd, when you get the attention of onlookers for all the wrong reasons.
Tissa-Hamy, is it fair to conclude that every sarong-clad chap in the Kandy town is a rascal of some sort?
I leave it to you mate.
Ex-vice principal of Royal college, one Mr Gunasekara, fell in love with a Tamil woman, a fellow teacher, while they were teaching in the same school. Mr Gunasekara's mother vehimently objected to the union.
They both decided not to marry and not to marry anyone else too.
They stuck to their vow for well over 40 years until Mr Gunasekara's mother passed away. And then got married in the old age!
There is a supermarket owned by a Tamil man in the part of west Europe where I live. All his employees are Sinhalese studensts who go their for studies and he has given them an opportunity to make an extra buck while studying. I hear he is not even bothered to turn up there as the day-to-day running is assigned to a manager who is also a Singhalese. Some of this gentleman's employees are people who refer to his father as appachchi, according to my woman who visit this place for her shopping.
I do my weekly Sri Lankan shopping in this part of the world with a shop run by Jaffna Tamils. The lass who was at the cashier offered me two Karthacolombon mangoes and said, "Sir, I kept this for you, before being sold out," and didn't even charge for it.
So, Tissa-Hamy, the evidence to outweigh your argument is strong and obvious.
I assume you are a very young chap; just think of the poor lads who go to battlefield with the uncertainty that they would ever come back as a living being. They do it for a noble cause - to live us all in harmony.
Respect your appachchi for being your appachchi. Not all his views. It is detrimental to his moral progress as well, well before he takes religious texts into his hands at the advancing age.
Take care.
Crime watch,
ReplyDeletei agree with you. that's why we are at this situation today. LTTE MF's come to south and blow our children, becouse people like me half mad.
so as long as we are mad. LTTE MF can continue to do what ever they want in SL.

:(
Interesting to see what is written there about Security, coz ltte can Attack this area.
Anyway it will take atleast 10years to see a rig there...
things could speedup if oil could be discovered Onshore though.
hey guys...I had an idea..... now the LTTE is on the back foot....the army is advancing, and all the steps the LTTE has taken up to now has not been able to stop the army advance. Even the suicide/parcel bombs on civilians have not made the government flinch or the public support to drop, so what is the next step for them.
ReplyDeleteWhat if they try some daring hostage take like what the Chechans used to do? 5-10 tigers, take one of the major schools in Colombo hostage (atleast they will be able to hold on to a single large school building) and threaten to blow off the whole thing unless the army retreats back to the original positions.. !! They can sneak in a cameraman, and maybe release a video feed too, just to increase the impact. Maybe they will put a time element to increase pressure,"one child killed every hour"...and broadcasted live over the internet" This will create a massive pressure on the government.. and knowing any rescue mission will anyway lead to hundreds of deaths of Kids..the government may find it self stuck between a rock and a very hard place....
Just my thoughts on somethng which can happen.....any feedback is welcome.....

Thoughtful Guy,
ReplyDeleteWell, it reminds me 24 TV series, how Jack Bauer has face these kind of operations and rescue the people.
I also talking with my friends, it is possible Mr. President to face this kind of operations from LTTE.
If you are the President, and when there are thousand of parents of school children around you, and begging you to rescue them, what will be your solution????
Thoughtful Guy,
ReplyDeleteWhat if some Taleban members take a school in USA as hostages and demand US to withdraw from Afganistan? What would US govt do?
That is a difficult question to answer. However I guess standing instructions for a hijacking a plane is to shoot it down.
What you are saying is a pure act of terrorism. It's unlikely that LTTE would do such thing because it will put die-ass-pora in deep trouble.
Bungu........ "what u say is a pure act of terrorisam....."
ReplyDeletewell put under extreme pressure (like what they are under, right now) how can we be certain what and what not a barbaric terrorists organisation will do??
And about the diaspora...I guess they are already in deep S@#t, and I guess they have nothing to loose anyway......
qrious sir,

Young SLN recruit commits suicide in Jaffna
ReplyDelete[TamilNet, Saturday, 28 June 2008, 06:33 GMT]
A 23-year-old Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) recruit, enlisted six months ago, shot himself to death Wednesday night at Allaippiddi, in the islets of Jaffna. The young recruit left a letter saying that he was deceived by his recruiters and brought to the north and that he was not granted leave to go home.
More than 15 young Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) recruits between 16 to 20 years of age were found dead following a mysterious shooting incident in their camp, 16 June, in Delft (Neduntheevu), the farthest island off Jaffna.
Before the incident, the trainees had conveyed their frustrations to reliable sources.
The trainees were reportedly deceived by their recruiters that they were to be trained somewhere in the South of Sri Lanka, but had been brought to Nedunththeevu in the North.
---------------------------------
Whats this BS is about?
Its possible 1/1000 men do commimt suicide. Its even happens in us navy.. but Ltte is trying hard to link it to suicide of 15 SLN. Anybody has an idea about this??
Tissa hami,
ReplyDeleteDon't forget there are also Sinhala Koti. How if he share the TOP secret with one like that?
Money .... :p
Tissa Hami..
ReplyDeleteWhen you ask a question it should mean something. for example why would anybody want to share top secret information with a blogger or with a guy who works in Shop.
What’s your argument..
Are you asking if qrious would share his top secret info with another Sinhalese or with Tamil?
Is that it? Well depends on who qrious would trust more. Just because we are Sinhalese doesnt mean we can be trusted. there are so many trators within us that the information given could be passed to LTTE :)
Hey... it doesn’t matter if we are Sinhalese or tamale or Muslim.. As long as we all stand against LTTE that’s what matter
Tissa hami
ReplyDeleteHave a question for you.. Have you ever interacted with a tamil person. School , work, church where ever. I bet you havent. Because if you have you would know there are just like us. so dont assume all tamils are terrorist.
Yes there are few who hide within them but not all are bad.
Tamilnet knows all "mysterious shootings" happen in SLN camps.
ReplyDeleteBut on the following incident,
[SLA hands over 25 LTTE bodies to Vavuniyaa hospital........
The LTTE is yet to release details of the battle.
Why still counting ???

Tissa-Hami,
ReplyDeleteIrrespective of ethnicity, there are people who live in different levels of enlightenment when it comes to world matters.
Knowledge (enlightenment) seeking is not only about learning, but also unlearning many too.
When it comes to living in a pluralistic society, some of us yet to unlearn few things too.
A pluralistic society provides diversity and add vibrancy to the culture and the society itself. Plurality makes societies/cultures rich too.
We are in a constantly evolving world, and if we were to survive, we have to embrace the 'Global Village'.
We should not be confined to our own mono-ethnic fiefdoms anymore (can you remember stuff like "Game Kaju Puhulan Game Wavullunta"?) -your Appachchi may have said it too.
We have to open up our minds and learn to embrace the Global Village. Else, you would be another Dynasore or in humble terms a 'little Toad in your small well'.
Tamils, Muslims, Chinese, Malays, Burghers etc., all are a blessing to our culture which has nourished it in many ways for many years.
Haven't you ever enjoyed going to Kataragama pilgrimage? It is a great place we enjoy our diversity eventhough we may not feel it.
Racism has many forms. The worst from of it is the "thinking of we are the only rightful owners to all the resources". The world belongs to everyone, and not only to you or me.
What we oppose is LTTE's barbaric, tribal, and utterly racist stance of "Mono Ethnic Homeland" - if you draw that line, then the Sinhalese have more claims to the North and the East than the Tamils. Therefore, LTTE better not tow that line. It is none-valid and outdated.
What most of true Sri Lankans say is "lets share", and live in harmony.
In the current construct, Tamils can live anywhere in the island. However, a none-Tamil can not live/buy land etc in any of the areas subject to LTTE controlled area. This shows how much none-Tamils have been discriminated in the hands of LTTE.
The issue that the general mass of Sri Lanka having is with the LTTE and not with the Tamils. It is unfortunate that 99.9% of LTTE is made of Tamils, and it has made everyone to think that Tamils are evil.
LTTE has done more damage to Tamils in propotion to their number than to Sinhalese. They are heading extinction in Sri Lanka owing to LTTE. The Tamil population has dwindled to less than two million now compared to three million twenty five years ago.
The world's largest Sri Lankan Tamil population is not in Sri Lanka, but in Scarborough, ON, Canada.
Most of the bloggers here would agree, we are here because we stand for a diverse country where diversity and humanity thrives that allows every citizen equal rights, and not for mono-ethnic fiefdoms.
Lets Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, etc etc get together to fight the evil menace of terrorism, separatism, ancient tribalism, racism etc, and teach Vezapizza as well as any future wanna be racists a lesson. This country is for unity and diversity -not for either Tamil or Muslim or Sinhala racism.
Tissa Hami ,
ReplyDeleteOn the long run, people of SL have to live as a single nation, the SRI LANKAN NATION.
As the majority we must show the minorities what they gain by being Sri Lankan rather than Tamil, Burgher etc . Since a section of the Tamil minority under VP has taken up arms against SL people, it shows that we have failed in our duty to the minority.
At the same time the minorities must show their loyalty. Your appachchi’s exasperation shows that the minority under consideration has failed to some extent in this matter…
As I see it, all these troubles are the birth pain of the glorious SRI LANKAN NATION. It is for your generation to make things easier by bringing Tamils in to the SRI LANKAN main fold.
If you want to see how nations are built, look at India. I have rarely met an Indian, Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western or Central who is not proud to be Indian and they belong to 1000 races and speak 1000 languages!
Guys,
ReplyDelete"Pentagon says Taliban has regrouped after seven years."
Any body have any suggestion how we can avoid such scenario with LTTE (with or without VP)
taliban are different. They are muslims hell bent on dominating the world and convertin all of us to islam. They are much bigger than one person. It is an entire ideology of islam which will drive that conflict.
ReplyDeletePrabharan is a different story, this is his last stand and he himself has said this. If Army does manage to take over Wanni then LTTE is over. Also most of the high level cadres would quickly be killed off by MI with help of tamils like me.
Prabhakaran didn't come up with any doctrine. He is a total atheist and it is unclear what the whole eelam vision really is.
Thoughtful Guy,
ReplyDeleteIf Vezapizza decided to take any school children hostage as the Chechniyans did in Russia, it would be another nail in the coffin of Vezapizza.
Russia was very clever to telecast live footage of hostage taking, death, destruction of children, which instantly made all the Western countries and people to withdraw their support to Chechniyan rebels. It put the death knell to them. Now you are not even heard of them, as the Western media do not follow or support them.
Russia go and kill as many Chechniyan rebels as they want and distroy whatever they want to. None say a word about it.
Those two hostage takings were the end of Chechniyan rebels.
Mathematica,
ReplyDeleteI can not agree with you more..
"As I see it, all these troubles are the birth pain of the glorious SRI LANKAN NATION."....
Yes, these are birth pains and valuable lessons of what NOT to do.
Hope Vezapizza achieve enlightenment soon or SLDF push it to his next life soon to see an end to it.
tissa hami,
ReplyDeleteyou are a good guy and we all agree. that was just a nipple slip!!! just forget it guys.
BTW, thanks for the compliment mate!
"Pentagon says Taliban has regrouped after seven years.
Any body have any suggestion how we can avoid such scenario with LTTE (with or without VP)"
if you replace the "LTTE" with "the TE project"......
i think this a VERY IMPORTANT issue. VP and the LTTE is only ONE VEHICLE used by tamil separatists who started their shit project in 1924 with the official demand for tamil elam. before LTTE they had other hardcore political parties that essentially said the same thing. so this TE project that lived without VP for 52 years will definietely survive.
this can be killed by a PROPER political "solution". this solution should "liquidate" the TE movement NOT nurture it. unfortunately all political solutions so far suggested nurture the TE movement like cancer and hence people didn't like them. the moment the nation (or the body) is weak, it strikes back complaining about this that and the other.
never forget that although the diaspora tamils don't have a vote in SL, they pull the strings. for them the conflict is a XBOX game. they will NEVER get satisfied for anything less than TE. their economy is BIGGER than the SL economy (GDP) as i said previously which came as a shocker to many.
division (of any form) CANNOT create unity. only unity can create unity. it is a BIG challenge for SL to find this right solution that will stop tamill elamists regrouping by frustrating their project.
whatever the political solution, i recon the killing process MUST continue even after we had won the war. there will ALWAYS be that black sheep emerging from somewhere and they will have the money/bombs/support. it is foolish and dangerous to deny this.
the TE project is a CANCER in every way imaginable.
Well well…25 filthy maggots in one fell swoop! Like Chickengunye mosquitoes after DDT (copyright: Gringo) LMSSAO!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that too from the so called formidable “Charles Anthony brigade!” Sure looks like the superficially applied inferior glue is fast dissolving as the right “solvent” is being applied today!
Bravo SLDF bravehearts…you are the best!
The nation salutes your patriotism, courage and valor!
May the Gods bless you and protect you brothers/sisters.
OaO Asithri
Moshe has stated two important points to us. Let me highlight them.
ReplyDeleteWe all patriots must agree to these facts.
"VP and the LTTE is only ONE VEHICLE used by tamil separatists who started their shit project in 1924 with the official demand for tamil elam. before LTTE they had other hardcore political parties that essentially said the same thing. so this TE project that lived without VP for 52 years will definietely survive."

Thoughtful guy,
ReplyDelete"What if they try some daring hostage take like what the Chechans used to do?"
I think taking civilian hostages is the biggest mistake a military organization can make. Remember that they did try taking hostages in the lake house some time ago, which resulted in getting their asses blown off by our commandos without any harm to the hostages. Though this was not a large scale incident, we can be sure that such an event will end in defeat for the LTTE (apart from losing support from IC, as a lot of people have said already). We have some of our elite units specially trained in hostage rescue, counter kidnappings, anti-hijacking etc. Taking hostages is a method you can use maybe at the early stages of a conflict, against an unprepared enemy. If you try it against an experienced and well prepared enemy, you're asking to be slaughtered. On the other hand, there is the political situation too. A government that is hellbent on destroying the enemy is never going to negotiate in such a situation, when even massacring its people has not changed their position. A rescue attempt will ensure that at least some of the hostages survive, and also a successful rescue would increase support for them greatly.

ReplyDelete[Never say feel sorry for the terrorist, if you are armed and part of any illegal organization
NEVER FEEL SORRY.]
Fully agree mate. These are cold-blooded killers and nothing less. I saw an earlier post asking that we have respect/sympathy for these dead gooks…and I say for what ungodly reason?
Is it because:
1) These are the same motherfcukers who raided innocent, hapless, poorest of the poor, Sinhela settlements in the N & E at night and killed every single infant, mother, grandmother, grandfather on a wholesale basis?
2) That they usually take the infants by the legs and smash their skulls on walls/tree-trunks so that the brain matter from the burst skulls would spew onto the wailing mothers – who in turn would be hacked with swords/axes, including the pregnant ones, leaving many to die a slow death all night long?
Upon looking at pics of the dead cadres, it is convenient to give into one’s emotion and always blame the leaders of a killer-terrorist group…but pray tell me, are the above actions possible for a normal human being - never mind what a leader said?
In my view, the above are only possible if you have a psychopathic brain to begin with – and in which case I don’t think you deserve to live on planet and when you are “terminated,” we must ensure you are “terminated with extreme prejudice,” with deepest possible pain!
In this context, the leaders deserve ten-times worse punishment in my view. However, at the same time, I say the excuse “we were only following orders” is a lame excuse and it certainly did not work at the Nuremburg.

ReplyDelete"whatever the political solution, i recon the killing process MUST continue even after we had won the war. there will ALWAYS be that black sheep emerging from somewhere and they will have the money/bombs/support"
ReplyDeleteExactly. The thing is to ensure that he is eliminated before he gets those money/bombs/support. Anyway immediately after VP is dead and LTTE disbanded (assuming) the remaining hardcore LTTE leaders must be weeded out and eliminated. We don't want another 'liberator' coming up an year later. And the next thing is to give some education to the brainwashed people that were under the LTTE, and stop them believing that tamils were in Sri Lanka from 600,000BC and Vijaya was also a tamil, Ravana was a tamil, and lord Buddha was a sinhalese invader that drove out tamils and all that crap. The rest of the problems that they face (though small) must also be taken care of.
Moshe,
ReplyDeleteonce the war is over (with or without VP's head) we will go in to next phase. gov will have to deal with the returning soldiers, un employment, freely available fire arms, armed kidnap, Etc., etc.,
so from the Gov point of view their plate will be full with How to continue to be in power, how to improve the economy, how to control JVP (with the weapons + support from ex soldiers)
LTTE,(TE project)will rise again, unless we Kill every LTTE MF small or big, our children cannot use public transport.
Time for a realty check…a clarification…a moment of poignancy too, for some LTTE supporting MFs in this blog!
ReplyDeleteI see many a patriot here jumped over the cliff as soon as Phia-rag posted that “VP critical” post and a few here started praising him, not unlike how one would greet the-latest-messiah! LMSSAO!
Re-read that bastard’s post and this time - carefully.
Therein, you will see the line:
“but your decisions to start the war little early brought the unwanted results to Tamils”
Now please pay attention to: “start the war little early” part.
There is an obvious, but often overlooked, fact. That is the sheer frustration on the part of a LTTE supporting diaspora with the VP for having “missed golden opportunities.” According to my “ear to the ground” with the non-LTTE Tamils, now there is a heavy blame on VP from a segment of the diaspora for two reasons:
1) Many LTTE supporting bastards/bitches abroad now say VP missed a “golden opportunity” as he should have supported RW the Ponnaya at the last PE and then got RW to give the LTTE the LTTE demanded ISGA (which RW was ready to give on a platter; the same ISGA which many constitutional experts had studied and declared as the blue-print for the “thamileelam” separate state) and then after building up militarily to a much higher level of lethality during the ISGA period (which the LTTE would have all the freedom to do under the ISGA as it had very specific clauses that provided LTTE total freedom of movement in the land and sea), then the LTTE should have gone for UDI and if at that time SLDF went to war with the LTTE (highly unlikely under RW ponnaya’s GOSL, but assuming RW was not there), then the belief was the LTTE would have been more than capable of taking-on the SLDF.
2) OK, so the grade-5 dropout VP missed the bus on that opportunity. Now the second issue they have is for VP re-starting the war in Nov 2005 (with the “claymore rain”) without waiting for MR GOSL to collapse (either through the polls or at a no confidence motion). The angle here is they say VP should have tried to hoodwink the MR GOSL into believing that LTTE was genuinely interested in a “negotiated settlement” (like how LTTE had done with all successive GOSLs up to that point), but should have used that period to achieve the level of lethality that he missed achieving vis-Ã -vis the point 1) above.
So, this is the frustration the LTTE disapora Tamils have…just like our Phia-rag here. This frustration has nothing to do with any sense of living in unity, peacefully, in ONE Sri Lanka!

Sinhala "Gene" has mood swing problems, today they will say Tamils are good, next day they will burn them alive.
I do not believe in Sinhala leaders , of them, some will keep us in our homes, some take us from our homes.
In whole nine yards, so far we came at least 6 yards now, only 3 yards left for touchdown which requires so much confidence from our depleted squad - we will prevail.
Bahiravaya,
ReplyDelete"In whole nine yards, so far we came at least 6 yards now, only 3 yards left for touchdown which requires so much confidence from our depleted squad - we will prevail."
I guess the next 3 yards will be very costly for you morons then, looking at how you have come those 6 yards. (nearly 20000 killed, 3/4 of territory lost) By the time LTTE is finally defeated, I guess you are ready to sacrifice 10000 more (maybe even more than that, looking at how things are going.... oh I forgot, they are all lies aren't they? fabrications of GOSL). Anyway maybe you can go to Ethiopia or somewhere and ask for a separate homeland from them, maybe they'll be more kind and understanding.....
Day of tiger extinction comes closer.
ReplyDeleteToday its Mannar. Tomorrow it will be Mullative. And finally Wanni.
No LTTE MF shall prevail!
[it stands that it will take Tamils over 150+ years to catch up at a reasonably faster reproductive rate to bring the equation back to the pre-LTTE time?]

Guys,
ReplyDeleteThere is a way-out and way-forward too....
It is not fun when you are trapped or trap yourself in a hole on the ground while the enemy is closing in on, not just on one front, but many of those.
You have a very few options left indeed: you can turn yourself into a termite; or else you pretend that you are a coal miner by applying some soot on your body all over, while assuming your enemy is really stupid.
For the former option, you have to be really religious. You invoke the blessing of your favourite deities, God Murugan, for instance, and just wait in the hope you and your family are going to be termites with the penetration power of a laser beam.
For the latter it is much easier, but there is a snag. The enemy is not stupid any more, because you have deceived them so much and for so long. So, the second option is not very desirable.
You can't worship a sensible deity by blowing up innocent women and children; hacking the innocents of the innocents - poor villagers - to death does not make that task any easier.
Yet, you are convinced that you are a religious person. What actually happens is you are worshipping a demon instead, who are very good at convicing you that they are actually deities, because that is their main job.
So, here we are. The options are, in fact, running out.
How do we go from here? There is a way out even at the eleventh hour. "What is that?" you may ask.
Just bring down that appallingly unaesthetic flag - snarling beast at the centre of a red background - down and raise a white flag. It is as simple as that. There are thousands of folks who can donate that piece of cloth even if it means they go nude, in Vanni.
I am a believer in superstition. For instance, if someone sneezes when I am about to go out, I will stay behind making a very silly excuse - going to the loo or forgetting my wallet - and force any one in my vicinity to make the move first, even if the soul in question is a cat.
"Hey Qrious, you are someone from scientific background and yet surperstitious," you may bark at me. Hands up. Yes, folks.
For me, it is not unscientific; on the contrary, science that has not been explored fully yet.
I saw this particular flag of eezam when I was a kid, ages ago. I knew this state is not going to be a reality ever. How can that be a flag for a any decent country, folks?
The first minister of all beasts - on the basis that the king is lion - snarl at you at the centre in a red background. Isn't it appalling?
Just imagine this is raised in a nursery. How about the reaction of poor kids? It can't be harmonious, can it? Going to a coma by shock.
Our older folks in the south think we should never give a razor blade to a monkey.
It is on a par with a semi-literate laying his hands upon a pencil, to sketch or write.
I advise the folk-in-the hole to raise the white flag and see the way out. Then make a full confession to the Sri Lankans in general and Tamils in particular about the stupid concept of Eezam and the destruction that followed. That is the way forward.
If you are too proud, just emulate the water drop - evaporation.
Whatever the victory, it would be lost if the LTTE M*frs got any members of President's key team, including President himself.
ReplyDeleteThey should be protected at all cost.
I am not happy how the President is being protected. His security team is doing mistakes all over the place. I do not want to mention them here, but I have seen from my own eyes. The mistakes are huge.
The number of crack commandos deployed to protect the President must be increased. Every stone should be turned to find infiltrators.
Basically, the security should be more getting into gear.
The next attack on Katunayake would come as LTTE wearing Army/Commando/Air Force uniforms.
Gota's assassination attempt have been coordinated by an LTTE m*frs wearing Traffic Police uniforms.
As some of our more aggressive members vent their communal spleens, there's a clarification that needs to be put in place here.
ReplyDeleteThe average Sinhalese has no problem with sharing power with the average Tamil. It is the defeat of the tribal, racist tamil terrorism that is being crowed about here.
The noise should not undermine the very imporant message that is ingrained in all this.
The reasonable minded Sinhalese and all Sri Lankans would rejoice the defeat of racist tamil terrorism so that the oppressed moderate tamils can rejoin our pluralistic society and enjoy democratic rights in any part of the country.
A victory for the racist terrorists would deny them that. They would be required to live under the yoke of illiterate thugs who only know how to blow things up.
Similarly, a victory or even an indefinite continuation of terrorism on our soil would allow the Sinhala extremists who would deny any rights to anyone, if allowed to do so, to continue with the war, which would result in a complete annihilation of the sri lankan tamil entity as a distinct group. The qualitative and quantitative decline of tamil society is testimony to that fact.
So when rejoicing the upper hand the SL Defence Forces have taken and the direction the present day events are taking, it is very important to commit ourselves to the solution we are seeking; a nation within which freedom belongs to all, and all are Sri Lankans.
It is also important that we defeat anyone, including chauvanists from the majority from attempting to turn Sri Lanka into anything less.

ReplyDeleteYou made a very valid point brother. The security of the president is of paramount importance at this hour.

Off topic...late Mr E. C. Gunasekara, the deputy principal (DP) of Royal College (lovingly or otherwise known as "Kataya") was indeed a strict man. The story about his love-life was incredibly amazing but absolutely true. I think the frustrations related to this aspect of his life affected the way he treated the boys at Royal. I.e. hit them first then ask them what they are doing in the corridor during class hours. They may have had a perfectly legitimate reason for being there, but too late; you get spotted by Kataya, you first get hit!…ha..ha...
Anyway, enjoyed your posts about various subjects.

ReplyDeleteVery well said. However now after 30 years this LTTE filth has taken on a well established international dimension no thanks to GOD IC mollycoddling these effing bastards.Prior to 9/11(U.S is exempt because they banned the wonderful LTTE in 1996)and the bombs in the U.K the wonderful west assumed that the world consisted of 2 parts and whatever shit they did in the southern hemisphere therefore had no influence on their lives in the northern hemisphere.Hey now they are a little more cautious..wonder why.. Before we offer any solution to those good tamil people who want to live with us in peace we have to nullify this international factor.I see only one way to do this. That is to increase the number of SLankans living overseas. The last thing we want is for some LTTE buffoons living in Canada/GOD IC in luxury to influence the wellbeing of millions of SLankans by using this pathetic non existent "discrimination" angle. To this end we need educated well balanced Srilankans to occupy positions in places like the U.N,positions at university, doctors+nurses in hospitals, media.and for godsake have proper people in our embassies(as opposed to jackasses).etc overseas.

Folks the death toll in the two days clashes in Cheriddikulam in vavunia and in the mannar front now stands at 87 ltte killed. The injured numbers are now known. With the fall of andankulam all MSR for the ltte fronts fighting in mannar are now in the hands of the security forces.Ltte had one of the worst days in battle in recent times on the vavluniya front with the loss of CA command with yesterdays and daybefores reversals...
ltte`s withdrawel from the mannar front has thus now begun.
fFnalised information revealed that a leader of the LTTE`s charles anthony died yesterday along with two others about whom not much is known at this moment.
The Fall of vedithaltivu is imminent and battle plans in mannr have been modiefied in the face of a possible ltte withdrawal from the northen mannr front with the fall of andankulam.Gen Fonseka sent new battle instructions to the mannar high command on the alternate course of action with the latest information trickile from the ltte, in the mannr front on withdrawel preperations.
Hectic preperations on the lttes part are observed in the welioya front and a troops are in preperation for tougher days there.more information on this aspect will follow...
ReplyDeleteLooks like Welioya will come under a massive LTTE attack.
It is going to be Jaffna Muhamalai type attack on SLA defences.
Hope Trinco will be protected at all costs.

What will be the maximum number of cadres the LTTE can assemble for a single massive attack?

Even if there is a onslaught in Welioya area and what we hear from their people here is that they will want to keep a beech head in the western coast to smuggle in arms using the TN fishermen.Trinco is not in their sights to capture knowing that they can’t hold it for long, but they might inflict damage to it’s assets

ReplyDeleteLooks like Welioya will come under a massive LTTE attack.
It is a good point; the essential mechanisms are in place that include the arrival of MI24 at a relatively short notice.
If the LTTE dares, it is suicidal and they are no strangers to that.
The movement of their cadres across Vanni is a serious challenge for them now despite their familiarity of the terrain.
The electronic and human ears are pretty active and an unusually high traffic of manpower or material is detected in time for an appropriate response.
I doubt any counter attack will amount to a catastrophe.
The derth of manpower is serious for the LTTE.
I am sure seniors will be split soon at least on the issue of how to take the next step. This is the tipping point in any organization when subjected to pressure on all sides.
No one can honestly believe people like Nadesan, Illanthirian are prepared to committ suicide. Mass suicide is a non-starter. I doubt that Prabha ever will.
They must be plannig on their plan B now. They have to and the army can help them out with that and nees something in return too - the simple law of give and take at work.
Thanks qurios and kevin for the feedbacks...

ReplyDeleteTangara mentioned:
ReplyDelete"What will be the maximum number of cadres the LTTE can assemble for a single massive attack?"
This I think is the important question. Northern front is too important for them. But if they attack from the mannar front they will lose weli oya (and vice versa) as they have no other way to get the numbers they need for a massive attack like that. Even if they are successful, they will lose a lot more people than defending SLA (which has been the situation in even the battles that LTTE have won) which means with reduced numbers, the defence of the newly captured territory will be very thin. Fighting in multiple fronts (I mean when army is assaulting from multiple fronts) is not a problem that the LTTE faced before and therefore did not have to worry about any other front, but now if they try a massive wave type attack and even if they are victorious, it means they are opening the gate for SLA to move into wanni from the other front. They do not have enough manpower to defend two front while attacking with massive numbers from another, unless everybody in wanni was brought to the front lines and they all were well trained personnel. In weli oya I think the LTTE will do their best to keep control of 1-4, but they will not be trying to launch a wave type attack into army army territory very soon unless just to capture the lost parts of 1-4 and the immediate surrounding area
Moshe
ReplyDeleteYes, German's surrendered in droves near the end. They had little ammunition, fuel, and food. Their morale was gone and reality set in. The same situation will occur again if the ltte does not turn things around. I do not think they have the capability to stop the SL army.
The Indian Prime minister will come to the SAARC conference with the security of 1500 Black cats and the Air surveillance with the Indian Airforce ...At the time 2 ships will guard the sea .....
ReplyDeleteIts a big shame for the SL GOV and its forces ...that the native country doesn't satisfy with the Srilankan security ..... Hooo Hooo Hooo
The most important thing for LTTE right now is killing the President.. and nothing else. There could be 50-60 LTTE teams working on that single objective exploring 200 - 300 avenues. They may be doing hundreds of mistakes, but the President can only make one mistake. Therefore, President's security measures must be increased by several folds.
ReplyDeleteUnlike Vezapizza, our leaders live in the public. This is the issue.
Shyam,
ReplyDeleteAnybody will trust his own people more than an outsider. It's not just skill and ability, there's something called trust and confidence. But I'm not surprised that someone with brains like yours can't understand that.
When your moron leaders came to Colombo on the way for 'peace talks', it was the SLA that provided security to them (and maybe the reason that they are still alive - those who didn't get in the way of SLAF bombs or LRRP ambushes) Wonder why the LTTE thought that SLA commandos were better than the 'elite charles anthony brigade' to protect them from the enraged civilians...
In terms of battle fronts, Vezapizza has no much choice other than IC to bail him out this time.
ReplyDeleteVezapizza needs Mannar corridore as it is the only supply route left right now to smuggle in arms under the cover of fishermen.
They can not use it as a strategic stronghold because of Mannar's less cover compared to Mullative and Killinochchi south.
Most of the LTTE investment is in those two districts too in terms of bunkers to bomb factories etc.
Therefore, Vezapizza should be like the one who got both the ends burnt.
