More troops to the Northern front as LTTE pounds on civilian targets

The Sri Lanka Army's ongoing operation into the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) heartland Wanni will be reinforced by two new divisions; the 61 division and the Task Force 2. With the inclusion of new divisions, the total number of SLA divisions taking part in the operation has risen to 7; 53, 55, 57, 58 (TF1) 59, 61 and TF2.

61 division will be commanded by Major General Athula Jayawardena while TF2 will be commanded by Brigadier Ralf Nugera. Already, two brigades of the 61 division ( 61-1 brigade and 61-2 brigade) have been deployed to the Northern front to assist the ongoing operations. SLA hopes to open new fronts in the Wanni battle through the latest deployments.

Meanwhile the LTTE has been blaming the army's 'DPU' for a series of attacks on civilians in un-cleared areas. Sri Lanka Army's Long Range Surveillance units did carry out several attacks in LTTE held territory during the past month. Special Forces units from the 3rd Special Forces regiment (3SF), Commando units from 3rd Commando Regiment as well as military intelligence corps took part in these attacks. However we have credible information that suggest that none of these attacks harmed civilians in any way. Deep battlespace operations are not easy to perform and each and every such mission has a specific, pre determined target. Being a conventional army, the SLA gains nothing by attacking civilians in deep battlespace ops (or in any other operation as a mater of fact) other than risking the lives of probably the best soldiers in its service. Usually the target of such ops is a senior LTTE cadre, intelligence wing member or a powerful regional leader.

Meanwhile the 59 division moving forward from Weli-Oya front was locked in fierce firefights and artillery duels with the LTTE fighters who are putting up formidable resistance. After the fall of Munagam base last week, LTTE's major military base in the area, the 1-4 (one-four) base, is now in 59 division's firing line. Infantry units have breached the forward defence lines in multiple locations during fighting which occurred yesterday and today. 10 SLA soldiers were KIA and a further 35 were WIA in these encounters. LTTE casualties are unknown.

  1. thanks dw for the update. hope to see a return to form. most western journos r taking these ltte allegations about dpu attacks as gospel. yesterday therewas a article on the asian times by an 'independant' indian journalist giving a very bad rap on the army about killing civillians and mentioning the dpu story word for word. afp is even providing a direct link to tamilnet now.

LTTE and their sponsors living overseas will always have plans and resources in place to kill civilians both in the North and the South... with the sole aim of starting communnal riots.

War or peace... LTTE will continue to kill Sri Lankans. We Sri Lankans have to prepare for the worst... but do utmost to defeat that agenda, while living.

  5. I wonder why SLAF is not using incendiaries like napalm to wipe out these LTTE camps like 14 base.
For Americans Napalm proved rather effective against enemy materiel due to its ability to stick to metals, ceilings, walls, and moving objects. Its efficiency rests on the fact that it burns at 2060° C (3740°F), more than three times the melting point of structural steel.

Napalm is particularly useful in jungle operations against troops in lightly fortified positions like the LTTE defences. A Vietminh officer’s diary records his experience in a napalm attack:
"Immense sheets of flames, extending over hundreds of meters, it seems to strike terror in the ranks of my soldiers…The men are now fleeing in all directions and I cannot hold them back.". Sounds like a good way to flush out the LTTE rats.
    Cheers!

  6. using flamethrowers nevertheless is a good option in jungles where there are many LTTE cadres hiding.

    1. it can force tigers to give up their positions and run crazy
    2. fleeing terrorists can be easily targeted
    3. stealth/surprise tactics of the LTTE will suffer a body blow
    4. intimidate and terrorise the terrorists into submission
    5. AVOID TERRORISTS USING SIMILAR TACTICS AGAINST THE SLA
    6. a permanat clearing along the columns will defeat LTTE attempts to launch flank attacks
    7. the rear and supply routes of advancing soldiers can be better safeguarded
    8. it will make it easier to perform demining op.s
    9. TREMENDOUSLY increase visibility
    10. LTTE cadres hiding in foxholes, bunkers will perish even if SLA has no idea where their hiding places are
    11. LTTE infrastructure will sustain HEAVY damage

however civilian casualties must be minimised and the fires eventually need to be controlled.

I can't believe some local tamils are involved in bomb blasts..!
They put even tamils' lives at a risk...
Another surprise is taht Mano Ganeganesan has balls to criticize LTTE!
Probably he is at least honest...

    ReplyDelete
  8. Moshe Dyan,
You are quite correct. Napalm can be delivered by the way of flamethrowers, firebombs, and land mines. However a tactical firebomb containing 165 gallons can dispersed napalm over an area of 2,500 square yards. Few of these could take care of a good sized LTTE camp.

Most certainly civilian casualties must be minimised. But aren't these bases in dense jungles away from civilian settlements?

Whoa! What have we here? Looks like the traditional RW=LTTE supporting “undercover” piece of shit has dared to poke his head out from the cesspit that “it” lives in!

Pray tell me RW=LTTE supporting shit speck, is it really hurting that bad? Must be…all the pounding the SLDF bravehearts are giving your LTTE MF idols in Welioya, Vavuniya and Mannar these days!

I know the agony, belive me…just like when it was hard for me to watch the SL national team losing the last world cup ODE Cricket finals to Australia, it must be hard for your type of “undercover” RW=LTTE bitch to digest all these losses…but stay put bitch, help is on its way…we patriotic Sri Lankans (from the President down to the man on the street) are definitely this time gonna not only kill every single motherfcuker of you, but we will make sure even your genes don’t survive in our proud, 2500 year cherished MotherLanka when we are done!

See the kind of backbonelss, corrupt, opportunistic son-of-a-whore (SOW) we have in our “Sinhalese” midst too?

Now you see why I will never ever give into racism vis-à-vis this conflict.

We have a Tamil brother like Sivanesaturai Chandrakanthan (aka Pillaiyan) who has liquidated LTTE bastards/bitches with unmitigated glee and is today ready to sacrifice his life by showing to the whole world that he stands for “one Sri Lanka” and that Sinhelas are his fellow-brothers and that he needs their protection from his own terrorist-Tamils…

    and then...

we have this SOW from our own Sinhela community uttering this kind of LTTE supporting, SLDF demoralizing, ka-ka nonsense.

I say all traitors must be punished, decisively and with “cruel and unusual punishment” in due course…so, until then let us mark time just only by grinding our teeth.

  14. I just have a simple question
according to the DN the DPU units did carried out attacks in vanni during past few days right?

    were they unsuccessful??

or did they missed the intended targets and finally succeeding in killing innocent civilians?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Just talked to an "authoritative source" in Colombo ...evidently, LTTE losses over the past 3 days have been quite hefty (over 100 dead and over 80 wounded (most, seriously) based on intercepted transmissions) and there appears to be some serious cracks and morale problems after the SLA successfully pulverized the 1-4 base (again from intercepted transmissions as well as confessions from captured LTTE hardcore/softcore cadres).

The biggest challenge the senior LTTE mf's are having is to assure that their FDL bunkers are not empty - i.e. the forced recruited cadres have not fled (as even SLA has been amazed at the number of bunkers they have captured with very little resistance!).

Most of us think this is LTTE's "tactical withdrawal" but in realty, the FDL cadres just destered I am told (somewhat similar to what happened in the East…it was always “tactical withdrawal” until the whole East was lost – forever!).

  18. Chandrasekaran is no more than another LTTE goon. He is the one who sent hundreds of up country innocent Tamils to be trained in LTTE camps. The same man is responsible for providing LTTE hide outs in the up country to haul large amount of explosives and men.

Now this guy says LTTE gave positive signals for an Indian intervention.
Beware of this LTTE goon. He is taking the innocent up country Tamil men also to LTTE grave.

    http://www.hindu.com/2008/06/10/stories/2008061057060500.htm

The best intervention that India can do is NOT to provide shelter to LTTE scumbags, and close all the arms smuggling rings in India that provide arms to LTTE under DMK patronage.

  19. Chandrasekaran was the one who came with more than 200 men and burnt Sinhala shops and houses in Thalawakele few years ago. I still remember the burnt skelatons of those shops. He went un-punished for his crimes because of his representation of up-country Tamils.

  25. (reposting from DW)

By looking at the new FDL Map, I guess it makes sense to deploy the TF 2 in the WEST of A9 , and that will help us to close the vast Cup shaped gap that ois existing between Vauniya and Mulathiv. Therefore from the TF2 the thrust should be towards the EAST.

The moment we do that LTTE will be forced to withdraw "tactically" from that vast area of land.

I think the key here is more we shift towards north lesser the number of troops needed to protect the FDL. Which in turn will strengthen the defences.

  26. guns,

please accept an apology from me on behalf of my friend asithri.
    salute your constraint bro.

fully agree with you and fully experience what WE are going through.

killing civilians in buses, etc. is a very ugly affair. there are few ugly truths.

    1. bloody tigers target MOSTLY sinhala areas
    2. more than 90% of the affected are ACTUALLY sinhalese
    3. there are HELL OF A LOT OF "human rights" groups THAT GOES TO TOWN with HR violations against tamils
    4. HR activists in 3 above DELIBERATELY hibernate themselves when sinhalese and muslims suffer 'cos they are fcuking RACISTS
    5. there are no "pressure groups", HR groups, etc. to make representations to the govt. to be MORE serious about protecting AT LEAST humans AND IF POSSIBLE THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS of sinhalese and muslims.
    6. this is FCUKING frustrating and INSANE
    7. ALL the fcuking opposition parties are with 3 above and 4 above is also applicable to them.
    8. at least the bloody JVP and the bllody JHU must come forward to GIVE A VOICE TO THE VOICELESS SINHALESE AND MUSLIMS (AND OF COURSE TAMILS ALSO WHO ARE AT RISK FROM LTTE BOMBS TARGETING SINHALESE).

this is a VERY sad situ. and even the president is not SEEMS to be fully fcuking aware of it.

WE CANNOT ALLOW INNOCENTS DIE LIKE LAMBS.

a pressure group must pressure the govt. to DO WHATEVER IT TAKES and save the lives and human rights of the innocents. if this was ISRAEL (or another country) the govt. would be in SHITT and will be FORCED TO DELIVER OR GET OUT.

this will bring the vital balance between HR concerns regarding 'abductions', etc. and public/national security.

we are at a terrible situ where WE DON'T CARE ABOUT LTTE SUSPECTS DISAPPEARING WE WANT TO BE SAFE AT THEIR EXPENSE!!

however, guns, we CANNOT stop DPU attacks. if we stop them this becomes a DANGEROUS PRECEDENT and whenever the LTTE wants something they will bomb civilians and get it.

for God's sake lets do our little bit to go through this cancer treatment. LTTE is a cancer and SLDF operations are the treatment. it is a fact that cancer treatment is MUCH WORSE than cancer! but we have to go through this. otherwise we will forever live in terror and so will our children.

prolonged wars are about endurance. lets endure these hardships for a terror-free SL. UNFORTUNATELY there is no easy way out. tigers will fight for the last drop of their shitt.

    2. what i stated was a FACT. no one can dispute a FACT. yes i know the names.

    3. the FACT that over 90% of ALL recent bomb attacks OUTSIDE warzones are sinhalese IS VERY CRITICAL WHEN WE TRY TO UNDERSTAND THE ACTIONS/REACTIONS (RATHER INACTION) of so-called "human rights" activists. they are RACISTS. they have NO REGARD when sinhalese and muslims get killed.

    4. yes it is sri lankans that get killed irrespective of race BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT I'M MAKING ABOUT HR ACTIVISTS and the NEED TO HAVE ACTIVISTS WHO GO BEYOND TAMIL GRIEVANCES.

    5. we MUST be SAFE FIRST before saving the others.

    6. even ten thousand + abductions is better than endangering the lives of 20 million. this is a practical trade-off.

mark my word, IF a LTTE bomb goes off in colombo in a tamil majority area, even by accident, ALL HR activists will blame the govt!!

  39. Guys,

Lakshman Kiriella is at it again; so is avaMangala. Ceasfire, ceasefire, ceasefire!

If this pair recite this word a few more times, with more intensity, I am sure they are going to get enlarged balls that in turn put them at the mercy of surgeon's knife - for surgical correction.

I saw the former's little office in front of Dalada Maligawa in Kandy. Judging by its size, appearance, any dude can draw a conclusion about the success of this failed lawyer.

Failed lawyers, by default, must embrace their 'religion' - politics.

Suddenly, he has an urge for compassion; he doesn't want to see blood.

Our ordinary folks make little distinction between failed lawyers and blood suckers.

When someone from that background suddenly raises his voice against the same liquid that he once thrived on, it tells one thing: the movement that enriches his bank balance is on its knees; it is pay-back time.

Mangala, P Chandrasekaran and the Kiriella guy just do this. The chorus has more members, folks. Vaiko, Bruce Fein, to name but a few.

They are going to deliver the most boring vocal piece ever:

    war is mad,
    bloodshed is bad,
    because there is a way out;
    siphon off the money wasted,
    to enrich our accounts;
    we will do the bidding,
    for a very long ceasefire,
    so that you can survive
    and we can prosper too;
to set a perfect example of,
    the likes living in harmony!

  47. Guys,

The UNP, that was once accused of not having ideas, seems to be having too many of them now.

At the moment, the global economy is in gloom. The clever chap at the decision-making body of the UNP hireachy, who comes up with these ideas, must be in great demand. The world need new ideas, not just the UNP, to beat off the risk of global recession. He can just walk into the vacancy.

According to my man at a reasonable position of the party, the recent demonstrations, in fact, had quite the opposite effect - they have backfired on them. Trading insults has begun in earnest and the blame game is in full swing.

The present top UNPers are not renowened for embracing the old dictum in politics - give and take; they are aggressively compettive. However, they agree on one thing, that is very very rare indeed; they have been made fools of themselves by the nature of the demonstrations and their cumulative outcome.

In my spare time, I really thought very hard, sometimes biting my own tongue, as to how to save this great party from self-destruction. I chose the best time to do it - when its leader dozed off, in a meeting.

The UNP has a formidable women brigage; they are quite attractive, by Sri Lankan standard. I think the UNP must use them to devastating effect.

Sending them to confront the police officers is not a part of my plan, though; it just grabs useless headlines.

The UNP has identified their main problem; that is good news. It is the problem of crowd attraction.

The cost of food is going up and up and so is the cost of clothes.

These women can lift their clothes up to symbolize that trend. They can attract folks in the millions! The cultural factor will not bark at this display as it is a protest against the high cost of clothes.

Full blown nudity is not erotic. Go down the beach of Hikkaduwa to watch the white women in birthday suits and you hardly feel erotic.

However, ask a woman to take off the garments, one at a time and you hit the roof!

This is the trick to be played by UNP's women brigade. They must lift up their garments in the full glare of publicity, one by one. They will attract millions of on-lookers, that include our red brothers - the JVP - who denounce sex in public, then indulge in it, in private.

The membership of the UNP is about to see its biggest ever rise. They must try this and give credit to me.

Long live our opposition leader - in that position, I must insist.

  56. Dear B#1,

    Thank for the compliments.

I don't live in Sri Lanka physically. But I share the pain, anxiety and all the rest as someone live in Sri lanka. I make my contribution towards the programmes that try to alleviate this suffering, as much as I can while remaining anonymous.

I haven't watched Sirasa TV. but heard of it.

It is obvious it is biased towards terrorists. However, we must be careful before chuck its programmes in the dustbin; some are good and if the administration struck a balance in its reporting, analysis and predictions, it would have not attracted the enviable superlatives that it is associated with.

This is the problem with the freedom of expression. The channels like Sirasa promote the wishes of the media barons who own it. That is the problem. It is not a Sri-Lankan problem, a global one.

Despite this fact, the journalists who work for them, want us to believe that they are the pillars of impartiality.

I won't be surprised, next time, if they want us to believe that their erected penes are as symbolic as a farm of Eiffel Towers - misplaced sentiments folks.

    ReplyDelete
  77. "I just have a simple question
according to the DN the DPU units did carried out attacks in vanni during past few days right?"

    were they unsuccessful??"

First of all there is no such thing in the army as a DPU. It's either MI, 3SF or 3CR and nowadays even regular infantry who conduct these raids behind enemy lines. Second of all, these types of attacks have been happening frequently in 4th Eelam War, not only in the past few days. Majority of these attacks were successful (that is, they met the pre established objective) and of course there were several which were put off in the last moment.

"or did they missed the intended targets and finally succeeding in killing innocent civilians?"

What makes you think that when/if they miss a target, it would consume civilian lives? We are talking about senior leadership of the LTTE and they do not travel holding hands with the civilians.

While it may be possible for the LTTE to kill civilians under its 'freedom fighter' brand name, the army can not afford such mistakes.
Besides, what good will it do to the army to kill some random civs?

As for your question the answer is no. As far as we know, these 'DPU' attacks have not consumed civilian lives as claimed by the LTTE.

    ReplyDelete

"what is the deepest point penetrated in wanni area by our LRRP unit's that confirmed by our defence authorities?"

No LRRP operation has been confirmed by the defence authorities. In fact, according to them LRRP does not even exist. SLA continuously denies behind-the-lines attacks saying that no SLA units operate behind enemy lines.

But unofficially, I guess they have been pretty much all over enemy territory. Remember that a popular story was that just before the peace process started bombs went off even in Prabha's front yard? Though probably exaggerated, this can give us a pretty good idea about their capabilities.

  93. Rival London demonstrations as Rajapaksa meets Commonwealth leaders
    [TamilNet, Tuesday, 10 June 2008, 13:49 GMT]
Over thousand expatriate Tamils demonstrated Tuesday outside the Commonwealth Secretariat where Sri Lanka’s President Mahinda Rajapaksa was attending a conference of Commonwealth leaders. Meanwhile several hundred other Tamils who arrived at the demonstration in Pall Mall were turned away by Police, citing space restrictions, to another space in Trafalgar Square. Next to the Tamil demonstration fifty Sinhalese staged a protest in support of the SL President Rajapaksa.

A thousand Tamil expatriates attended the demonstration from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

With an official restriction on the number of people permitted to gather, police extended the designated space, but as protestors continued to arrive, directed them to another gathering point in Trafalgar Square.

About fifty Sinhalese, carrying several Lion flags demonstrated next to Tamils in support of Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Police separated the two groups with barriers and metal sheets.

The Sinhala protestors denounced the British Tamil Forum, which had coordinated the organizing of the Tamil demonstration as a Tamil Tiger front.

On Monday, Amnesty International organized another demonstration against the Sri Lankan president outside the Commonwealth Secretariat protesting repression of media in Sri Lanka.

South Asia director of the Amnesty International, Sam Zarifi, told the BBC the government should understand that Sri Lanka is ‘not forgotten’ by the international community.

“Certainly the situation in Sri Lanka has been the source of the increasing concern around the world because the deterioration has been rapid,” Sam Zarifi told BBC Sandeshiya.

The government is not seen to be willing, he said, to respond to the concerns by human rights watchdogs and the international community.

“We hope President Rapaksaksa understands that this is not a forgotten conflict,” Mr. Zafiri added.

  107. Amnesty International and BBC have become the mouth pieces of LTTE. This is clearly evident by the fact that, all their statements end up in the front page of the terrorist web site TamilNet.

I think there is a reason why Amnesty International and BBC (and a few other organizations ) appear to be taking the side of a terrorist group. LTTE over a period of time (20 years or more ? ) infiltrated these organizations and put their sympathizers in the hierarchy.

Previous Sri Lankan governments were so weak in their propaganda and they were unable to point this out to the international community.

If you look at the organizational structures of AI and BBC, I bet most of the employees assigned to cover issues in Sri Lanka are LTTE Sympathizing Tamils . They in turn would cultivate their superiors to give adverse publicity against the legitimate government and do what terrorists want

I think amnesty should sooner or later will have to get rid of their terrorist supporting employees, who are actually wolves in sheeps' clothing.

One other reason might be that these organizations are nothing but a bunch of blood sucking leeches who look for poor countries as their prey. After all they need money to survive. Sri Lanka's lack of effective LTTE counter-propaganda mechanism has made us easy targets

We should expose this bitter truth to the world, let the world know the poor credibility, and duplicity of AI and BBC. Imagine what would happen if these Amnesty and BBC leeches speak on behalf of Al Queda ?

  110. Observer...

Well observed about BBC / AI.

LTTE's money buys many things and that we cannot stop them spending lavishly on journalists...

But we don't have to re-invent the wheel to find a solution.

These organizations were doing the same thing a few years ago to Malaysia, India, Thailand, Singapore etc. As as you mentioned... they prey on the weaker lambs... and make profit.

They can scream... but on our soil we are king. They cannot touch us. Meanwhile must emulate systems used bythose countries and introduce tough laws.

Also we needn't worry too much about whant they say... they can only bark from outside the country...

Inside our country... all we have to do is to make life / operations extremely difficult and costly for them...It's a tested method. That's how many countries keep these wolves far, far away... E.g... have you ever heard these organizations even humming about the dictatorships in the middle east?

    How come and why?

  122. Truth about Ellan Force of LTTE.

This is how they have been organised. Ellan Force who is responsible of killing hundreds of innocent civilians in Sri Lanka are the sleeper cells of LTTE. They have been organised to come to the Southern part of Sri Lanka, and engage in normal jobs, and live normal lives until the orders to be received from the LTTE handlers.

The LTTE handlers give instructions and material to these sleeper terrorists when they have decided the mission.

During Ranil the PWP's time he opened whole Southern part of Sri Lanka wholesale allowing these terrorist cells to get established and hoard bombs and explosives in tons.

Now we are paying that price. Ellalan Force is none other than LTTE sleeper cells.

[Truth about Ellan Force of LTTE]

Not worth another comment really…as this IS the LTTE.

LTTE bastards are shrewd…they would not want to take claim for the bus bombings as their agents are still moving in the corridors of power in the western capitals, trying to hoodwink lawmakers in those countries. You cannot claim responsibility for mass slaughter of innocent civilians and then go cajoling people to see things from your point of view.

This is a mistake that the Palestinians made from day number 1.

I once had a great discussion with a Palestinian Prof. in one of the leading univ. in the US and he admitted that this was a huge blunder (i.e. PLO/PFLP claiming ownership of carnages of civilians) and he admired the LTTE’s policy of never ever admitting to such carnages – designed to keep their propaganda lines working smoothly in the west.

Yes, claiming ownership by other names – “Ellalan force” used repeatedly in the past and even “Makal Padai” (i.e. when violating the CFA by blasting our unsuspecting bravehearts with claymores starting Nov 2005) were examples of how LTTE got round this problem of claiming responsibility for the attacks but at the same time, really not technically claiming so either.

Ellalan Force member abducted in Thampalakaamam
    [TamilNet, Monday, 09 June 2008, 17:20 GMT]
A Tamil Ellalan Force member S.Arumugam, a farmer in Thampalakaamam, was abducted by unidentified persons Monday morning around 11:00 a.m. The abductors arrived in a white van and took the victim by force, according to complaints lodged with the Thampalakaamam police by his relatives, sources said.

Thampalakaamam, a traditional Tamil village in Trincomalee district is located about 24 km off southwest of east port town along Kandy-Trincomalee highway.

Meanwhile, the Civil Monitoring Committee based in Colombo has reported that it has received twelve complaints of abduction in ten days.

250 Ellalan Force members arrested Monday in Colombo region
    [TamilNet, Monday, 09 June 2008, 02:44 GMT]
Police arrested more than 250 Ellalan Force members in a search conducted Monday in Colombo, Avissawela, Buwakpitiya, Peliyagoda and Gampaha, Sri Lanka police spokesman and Senior Police Commissioner Ranjith Gunasekara said. Persons from outstations without documents of identification and proper reason for their stay were arrested, he said. More than 220 Tamils have been arrested in Avissawela and Buwakpitiya areas.

A large scale search from Sunday night to Monday noon was launched in Colombo, Avisawela, Buwakpitiya, Peliyagoda and Gampaha.

Buses and vehicles of suspicion passing through the check posts at the entry points to Colombo and passengers were subjected to strict check up and those who failed to prove their identity were taken into custody.

Persons employed in Avissawela Trade Zone were the majority of those arrested in Avissawela.

30 persons in Gampaha, and 20 in Peliyagoda police divisions arrested on suspicion are being interrogated by police officers of the respective divisions, the Police Commissioner said.

Some Ellalan Force members were repeatedly sexually assaulted by six dogs that were subsequently killed by Ellalan Force members.

Ellalan Force is a shady organisation that claims its actions were directly against civilian lives.

27 Ellalan Force members died last October when they attacked the Anuradhapura air force base. They had posed for a photograph before heading for their assignment with LTTE supremo Velupillai Pirapaharan. However, SLAF raids continue.

More than 60 Ellalan Force female members were killed in Sencholai when SLAF pilots pounded their bases mercilessly.

r u confident with ur statement?

I think 15000 tamils lives told by B#1 is the LTTE supporters and Carders who are fighting. WEll cant you even assume that.

    ReplyDelete
  158. MALIN..

ya u r correct according to b#1 statement i thought 15000ltte carders is double the amount than our General.Fonseka's figure.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Thiru..

LTTE May have destroyied a SLN Camp (maybe not confirmed) killing 3-4 SLA and also loosing 4 carders.
but after that they left.. LTTE has with some ammunition and a radar.

    MY POINT. SO WHAT
SLDF can Replace the equipment and the personal, but on the other hand SLA is gaining ground which LTTE cant replace. Thier have LOST som many bases like this which they cant replace.

THE TRUTH IS SLA IS GAINING GROUND AND LTTE IS GETTING PINNED DOWNED THATS THE TRUTH.

    ReplyDelete
  160. X-files..

Again please read what i typed.. I said supporters and carders.. NOT CARDERS ONLY.

  162. SLAF has for the 3rd time within 24 hours has carried out yet another air raid in northern LTTE FDLs.

    something BIG is happening there.

Tigers are repeatedly losing whatever cadres and equipment they bring to FDLs.

BUT what is important is to provide same support DURING an operation.

meanwhile two more families with Ellalan Force members have been abducted in kottanchennai.

kottanchennai is a tamil village in colombo that has close cultural links to chennai, india. recently a large number of villagers have migrated to chennai.

  167. [TamilNet Leader: "Sea Tigers raid key SLN camp in Mannaar"]

Translation to LTTE supporters: 'Look, look, Tamils abroad; we ae still wining. Keep sending us your money!'

Reality: Token gesture which resulted in the death of their leader Sirimaran. If anything, a bit embarrassing for SLN for not detecting the incursion before they beached.

Respect to the SLN personnel for not only holding the outpost against a much larger LTTE force but also for eventually repelling it. Peace, respect and condolence to the families of the KIA personnel (the ultimate act of professionalism is to man your gun and hold your post against a much larger force - take pride and solace in the fact that they are heroes). Well wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

Excellent to see SLAF co-ordinated with Army/Navy and that the gunships attacked only when the LTTE were withdrawing and well away from friendlies and assets.

Note for future: Don't think boats at night on radar = 'fishermen' or 'refugees fleeing uncleared areas'. Presume LTTE until proved otherwise. This unique facility for refugees and it must continue to remain accessible to them, but measures should be put in place to not allow that to be abused by LTTE (as seen today).

  173. Puli,

Dude, we've faced the threat against civilians from the LTTE even before the inspired decision to setup the LRRP.

You are particularly stupid and pathetic if you think LTTE killing civilians will stop LRRP missions targetting *LTTE leaders*.

    ReplyDelete
  174. PULI..

You think that DPU Attacks will stop that easy.. for one thing SL goverment is not going stop that even if people get blown up in the south.

Beacuse its war and their is something called "Collateral Damage" and we have to live with it.

The day the bombs in the south will truly stop is when LTTE PIGS are in hell till then we are not safe.

If DPU attacks have not been carried out the reason may be to protect those brave soilders since LTTE must be vigilant these days. They will happen dont worriy Puli.. DPU will strike again.. hope fully they would put one behind your ASS.. :)
