15km of Pooneryn-Paranthan road (B-69) captured

After their recent capture of major LTTE stronghold of Pooneryn, Task Force 1 (TF1) units are now moving towards their next objective; the Paranthan junction. So far, they have managed to capture around 15km along the Pooneryn – Paranthan road (B-69).

Meanwhile several media (including pro LTTE web sites) have reported that SLA suffered high casualties in the capture of Pooneryn town. This is not true. In the actual operation that lead to the capture of Pooneryn town center, 4 SLA soldiers were killed and 29 were injured. 12 of the injured were SLA’s elite Special Forces units. At the time this operation was launched there were around 150 tigers still trapped in Pooneryn. Some were killed and some managed to escape via sea route. A large haul of weapons and ammunition was captured from the tigers. Images of the captured weapons will soon be released to the public.

On the other hand, SLA casualties were comparatively high during the recent SLA advance on LTTE’s Muhamalai FDL. This was expected. The thin stretch of open terrain at Muhamalai always gives the defender an added advantage. Nevertheless, LTTE had to fall back when SLA units from the 55 and 53 divisions stormed their FDL amidst a rain of bullets and heavy weapons fire. It was here the tigers felt the loss of Pooneryn for the first time – usual artillery barrage from LTTE’s 130mm howitzers stationed in Pooneryn was not available. However the tigers still managed to inflict heavy casualties on SLA units mainly through the hundreds of mines and booby traps laid practically everywhere ahead of LTTE FDL. They also used gas attacks on advancing forces. Amidst this fierce resistance, SLA have so far captured an area of 9-10 square kilometers including the first defence line of the tigers in Muahmalai/Kilali. In addition to the usual three defence lines, MI has received information that the tigers have built a fourth line further south. SLA operations are still continuing in this area.

Meanwhile 3 soldiers were killed and 13 more were injured in an incident during a training exercise near Nochchiyagama SLA training base. Around 300 soldiers from the 10th Sri Lanka National Guard (10 SLNG) were being trained on searching civilians when gunshots were fired from behind a nearby house. It is still not confirmed if this was sabotage or was an unfortunate accident.

When you start to lose too many things; the requirement for justification of failures and the existing tolerance levels should be amended to match the ever changing situations.

  5. ENDGAME is on.

Nov 27th may be something to look forward to. Perhaps the SLDF will deliver some spectacular fire works to Killinochchi on that day. It is to be expected that the bunker monkey will broadcast a pre-recorded message in order to avoid getting his ass bombed to eelam, so if we relocate to kiilochchi, say in the night of 26th, that would make it interesting.

cant the SBS and the commados attack the muhamalai defence line from behind ???

the commandos can attack from the pooneryn side while the SBS can attack from the champiyanpattu-mulliyan area. and the 53 and the 55 can attack from muhamalai and nagarkovil respectively...
this way we will be able to trap the tigers and as Moshe Dyan says.... the harvest will be high...

they would have probably moved their artillery towards mulaithivu. so the risk of being attacked by rains of artillery will be much less...

and btw when we captured the 1st FDL of the LTTE in muhamalai, was it at day time or night???

we should eliminate those remaining buggers.... and not let them runaway like rats... cos rats always grow in numbers if they are not eliminated, and also the environment should be changed so that the rats cannot grow in it... likewise if we develop the north and the east rapidly it will be extremely hard for the LTTE to do small small things to the public. ( happy to see that its happening in the eastern province, at least for some extent)

It was all from Racist Guards, Sinhala Police, then your Army which gave weaponry and increased the weapons room of the Tigers with a variery of things when SLA ran off after shitting their pants...while some went dizzy and fainted having to hide behind some bush with another SLA for hours after he had shitted its pants...brave sons of the Ammae-Whore-Land of SL.

Later you went around the world beggin and whoring yourself...only to give those weapons to Tigers as well...

  21. After very long time "Athas Column" has some new information.

"The next day, troops from the Army's Task Force 2 advanced northwards from Omanthai, until recently the only entry-exit point to Wanni. They recaptured Puliyankulam, an area where there was a string of pitched battles during Operation Jaya Sikurui (Victory Assured). During this operation, troops trying to link areas under guerrilla control between Vavuniya with Kilinochchi met with stiff rebel resistance. Now, both the Task Force 3 and 2 have begun advancing in an easterly direction into areas dominated by the guerrillas.

Both the Task Force 2 and 3 may link up with the 59 Division as they continue their advance. See map on this page for the latest on the battlefront."

    THE GATHERING STORM

a storm is gathering in vanni. take a look at the following 2 pictures carefully.

    1. in jaffna which is under SLA men outnumber women

    2. most likely men outnumber women in vanni BUT these pics of 'civilians' show a SEVERE lack of men. where have they gone? also notice how CAREFULLY women, kids and old ppl are mixed in some pics with a few men.

    3. imagine the vanni rally had the 'missing men' IN ARMS. imagine LTTE cadres from behind pushing them to attack SLA defences in large numbers claiming that 'they are reclaiming' their land. can SLA kill about 5,000 (VERY VERY low estimate) civilians? if they don't, what will happen?

    4. in 1999 and 2000 what was termed "ceaseless waves" had a large number of untrained EASTERN cadres (the cheepest in LTTE ranks). now the 'cheepest' in LTTE ranks are.............CIVILIANS!!!

    5. does the LTTE give a rat's arse about civilians?

    6. how will TN and india react IF SLA do the right thing by attacking the attackers?

    7. to top it all this week is the crappy 'mahaveer crap' week

LTTE MAY BE getting ready for what we feared most. this is ENTIRELY different to 1999-2000. we can EASILY handle it. BUT if in the process civilians die in large numbers, we will be forced to stop the war.

leading upto this it makes sense to "neutralise" the SLAF bcos SLAF may become the decider in such a battle.

Very well observed. It could be a ploy.

  28. Battle for Killinochchi has begun..

[Army lays siege to Kilinochchi; LTTE defences fast falling apart
Sri Lanka Army offensive divisions in the Wanni theatre of operations are now marching towards the Kilinochchi built up in three frontiers, defence sources in the battlefield said. Amy Task Force 1 and 57 Division have launched attacks at the LTTE held earth bund built around Kilinochchi outskirts.

According to the latest reports from the battlefront, pitched battles are going on in the North of Adampan, South of Adampan and Therumurikandi areas since early this morning (Nov 23).

Army Task Force 1 launched a predawn offensive targeting LTTE defence in the North of Admapan area. Infantrymen of 17 Gamunu Watch (17 GW), 12 Gajaba Regiment (12 GR), and 8 Sinha Regiment (8 SR) have been able to capture LTTE strongholds on the earth bund at three locations after crushing stiff resistance. Troops are now consolidating their positions. Intercepted radio transmissions have confirmed heavy damages to the terrorists during these clashes.

Meanwhile, Army 57 division troops are now fighting the terrorists in the vicinity of the LTTE held earth bund in the Admapan area. According to the sources, LTTE defence in the area are fast falling apart. Troops of 12 SR, and 9 GR are engaged in the battle.

In the North of Kokavil area , troops of 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (8 SLLI), and 10 SLLI are now advancing towards the A-9 road . The latest reports from the front reveal that troops are fighting in close proximity to the LTTE held earth bund built across the A-9 road in the Therumukandi area. Also, reports add that the terrorist have taken to their heels in the face of army advance.

    More information will follow...

  29. The government could make a request to some of the developed countries to provide aid to develop the "Road of Peace" a.k.a A32 (not loans).

This way we could make the reduce cost of living of the people in Jaffna and also it would make it easy for them to be in contact with their relatives down south. There are lots of university students/workers etc who were not able to visit their parents and family regularly because of the high cost of travel + security risks.

It is heartening to see the families who arrive at Omanthai, you definitely can see the relief on their faces.

Lets finish this war once in for all (like the one we finished during the nineties), stand up as a nation and direct our energies for more constructive work in order to achieve our true potential.

  33. Here is what LTTE will try in coming days..Just another hypothesis. LTTE tried this few days ago but failed. But they will try it differently.

LTTE will attack our forces along the beaches while holding their current defenses. That way SLA will be forced to defend two fronts. The most vulnerable in my opinion is the 59 division.

The other option left with LTTE is to attack around Padaviya around again targeting the 59.

Due to shrinking territory, LTTE will soon realise that they have enough cadres to hold their existing FDL's and take on a full division like 59.

If I quote Velu's recent statement reported by the Sundayleader, he is promising a massive attack in the comming days..

    May be this is it.

    Please be ready.

India will not want to even think of supporting terrorists for a while, and even Tamilnadu will find it awkward to support people who do things similar to terrorism which is happening right now in Mumbai. Sri Lanka should have the common sense to tie the two together, and remind the Indian media of the connection and the similarity, to make it difficult for the nattami circus in India to support the LTTE.
