Donate to "Be together for all"

Each day, more than 140000 men and women put their lives on the line to protect the motherland. Although the invaluable deed of defending the nation at the cost of their lives can never fully be repaid, there still are ways you can help make their lives better.

"Be together for all" is a new housing project which's aim is to build 50000 houses for security forces personnel. As you may understand, a project of such large magnitude will require a considerable amount of money. You can help ease the financial burden by donating to the "Be together for all" fund.

You can make your monetary contributions to the following bank account:

  • Bank of Ceylon Corporate Branch
  • Account Number: 7040000

You can view the promotional video via this link. Official MOD page for the project can be found here.

  4. RomeAlphaFoxtrot,
Yes this is a MOD initiated project. We have no direct involvement. Just passing the news since it looked like a genuine attempt to help the armed forces of Sri lanka.
Yes the account number alone will suffice.

Still it is better than going it into LTTE's hand. A lot of money you guys earn from your effort finaly end up in LTTE. Most of whole sale merchants are tamil in pettah and all retailers buy stuff from them. LTTE usually get ransom from those merchents and clearly it is a part of their profit. Thus at the end our money end up at tigers hand.

  7. From previous thread:

"when people read defense.lk..you come across this idea that terrorists retreat..after an engagement ...Is it a bad idea to pursue them ...finish them off?..or are they retreating under the protection of LTTE mortar/artillary fire?..and do they mine the area on their retreat to stop/delay soldiers from pursueing them?"

Srilankan, what they do most of the time is to retreat to the next defense line (i.e. the 2nd or the 3rd in some cases), in such occasions, pursuing them without a plan will be suicidal. Most of the time they flee using routes through mined areas which the troops cannot immediately cross without casualties. Yes artillery cover is also used but this is rare in close encounters (to avoid friendly fire incidents).

About tiger aircrafts it's high time we took the threat seriously. Although tiger aircraft havent done much besides propaganda, it does not mean they will always miss the target. In fact when they bombed Kolonnawa they struck an oil tank but luckily the bomb did not explode. Hence they are a serious threat and its high time we accepted it and moved on.

When UAV flight picked up images of Zlins parked on runway (Iranamadu) during the CFA, initially we thought they were dummies. It was not to be.
Once it was confirmed that they were the real thing, it was speculated that they could not travel the distance to Colombo with such small fuel capacity.
Once the MI warned that it may just be possible, authorities dismissed the claims saying that any incoming aircraft will be intercepted using Kfir jets (all Mig27s were grounded pending maintenance at that time). Well so far we have not done so.

If we acted accordingly to MI warnings from the beginning, today LTTE will not have an air force to brag about.

If anyone think that most people join SLA just because they are jobless, it's not correct (forgive us if no one meant such as we did not have the time to go through all the comments).
As a matter of fact some will be motivated by the salary and other offers initially but once you join the army and begin to work as a team salaries will be forgotten (in most cases). We can give you plenty of examples of those from wealthy families who joined the army and fought valiantly in battle.
As someone said before no army in the world is perfect so there may be exceptions.

  9. Defencenet,

I just want to add a footnote here.

Even if people joined the forces because they are jobless, they put their lives in line for our tomorrow. No other category of jobs has such a risk. If somebody thinks that putting life in line for our tomorrow is not good enough, I call that man a worthless piece of scum.

I didn't think I would say this to you (LOL!), but Commendations are in order dude for how you handled the "Fazil” in the other thread. Your points about the motives behind our boys who join the SLDF are right on the dime and I take note of how you articulated your points like a rapid-fire M-60! LOL!

[some pansy said: "all goes to Mahindas pockets lolll"
and you said: Still it is better than going it into LTTE's hand.]

Well said mate…during Ranil the she-male’s time, it is a fact that our tax money indeed did go to help the LTTE scums’ war effort as Ranil was allowing all military/communications goods to go to Wanni without any customs levy (paid by the tax payers) from no lesser place than the BIA!!! (no, never mind the monetary aspect of this treachery, this she-male scumbag even ordered the SL Customs to NOT DARE inspect what was in those big, very big containers going to Wanni! – and today SLDF boys are still paying the price for this folly!)

Well said patriot…I certainly respect your knowledge and recollection! Yes, this is what came up during the CBK the Cow’s time and she, being the naïve P-TOMS Cow that she was (proven later), asked the military establishment to disregard it as she claimed she had a trump card to nullify it – and that trump card was to go on a “LTTE appeasement” program to out do what Ranil the She-Male had done! Wow! God Bless the JVP and the Supreme Court of SL as those are the elements that saved SL from inevitable horrific disaster if P-TOMS had clicked!

  13. [LTTE’s bunker line destroyed
    B. Muralidhar Reddy
COLOMBO: Sri Lankan military on Tuesday claimed that at least 27 Tamil Tiger cadres were killed and several injured along the Forward Defence Lines (FDLs) in the north and the east in the last 24 hours.]

Even if the “real truth” is ½ the tally, I still say “bless you SLA boys, you are the best!”
At the rate the carcass-maggots are losing their cadres, I wonder how they hope to keep up.

Remember it takes 11 years for the LTTE to produce a fighting cadre (i.e. a child forced recruited into the “baby brigade”) and at this rate, this is not an equation that they can keep up with. As I have said before, and in many sites too, LTTE needs to have an approx. 20:1 kill-ratio in their favor if they can ever hope to achieve “thamileelam” and sustain it (even for a short term), and going by these kill ratios (like 20:1 in SLA’s favor!), no, it certainly does not bode well for the filthy maggots!

Go SLA…you are doing well…do not mind the comments/conspiracies from RW=LTTE filthy mf’s…do it for the betterment of Sinhelas, Tamils, Muslims and all others in OUR Motherlanka!

  15. Pina,

Thanks mate...the day is not long off when we patriots will have a great celebration in SL...the cause being that that SLDF has liquidated the last filthy LTTE mf-maggot "with extreme prejudice!" How fabulous that would be!

Without revealing "trade secrets" (that will help the LTTE undercover maggots prowling here) I can say unreservedly that the rank & file morale of the SLDF has never been good as this time! They have all been given the indoctrination that this war cannot be handed down to the next generation (i.e. their children) and what I am hearing is the they are "going for-broke" at eradicating the LTTE maggots with a calculated patriotic/military fervor (very intelligently done I hear; strategy and tactical details are highly classified and no, even I don’t ask such crass questions) and it is producing the results we see daily!

  16. Asithri,
Who is responsible for this never has been upliftment in morale in the defence forces?

Is it this corrupt, meddling current government? If not then the government should find the root cause for such a high in the morale of our troops and nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand. All this while the government is trying demoralise our forces by pushing for operations to gain political mileage, points that the force who is responsible for this morale boost must be doing a uncomparable job!
